Additional Selection Tool

The current selection tool is excellent for re-using areas of a drawing, often eliminating the need to draw objects repeatedly across many frames. I would not like to see the way this tool works changed, as it is great for many tasks.

However - an additional selection function, whereby the selected area would remain selected (marked by a dotted outline) would be VERY useful. So that one could select an area that could then be cut, copied, filled or cleared and this area would remain selected even when a different frame was selected. This would allow one to work on a specific area across many frames. An invaluable feature in hand drawn animation. The selected area would only be de-selected when a dedicated deselect button was clicked.

Selection Tool

The selection tool is a little bit like the lasso tool, but instead of having to trace where you want to select, you can just tap. Using the selection tool, you can draw in specific areas that you might want to color. For example; you could use the selection tool in an outline of a character, go into a different layer, and color it in without coloring the background or other things you might not want to color in. There are similar tools like this in other drawing apps.

Thanks for the idea. We will look into this to see how we could make it work.

This idea is meaningful as well as the other comments..I've like to add some selection tool just like in other apps like("Photoshop")like the magnetic lasso tool/magic selection tool ,that automatically select the edges of the pixels for precise selection..and quick selection tool for fast selection that has the threshold option ..as well as the option for the selected area, like clear, copy, paste, move, scale, transform, adjust perspective, add gradient, and even adding effects..but btw cheers for the developer for their great works..

i have more or less the same request.  the ability to make a selection, switch to another tool such as brush or paintbucket to then affect only the previously selected pixel geometry would be amazing. The Cut and Gradient method of coloring is pretty much a standard comic book / animation industry colring technique that relies on the ability to maintain selections while flatting colors.  it requires the ability reselect pixels from the layer menu, your “flats”, in order to color and finesse non-destructively on another layer above with soft airbrush type brush or gradient fill tool. So a nice soft airbrush (similar to the soft eraser) would be amazing if there isnt already one. maintaining selections of flats layers is also very helpful when cel-shading highlights and shadows for animation. love the app though. i know you guys have your hands full but a more robust selection system and keyframe independent layer organization would be icing on the cake.  thanks for putting in all the work.

Hey! I've really enjoyed the app and appreciate the usability. However, a big issue for me is the selection tool. I think its great that I can select what I need and move it, but is it possible to allow for some warping of the object from the corners, rather than just changing its size and stretching directly up or down? I believe this would help with editing perspective of objects and creating realistic movement, because it would allow for more "after-drawing" editing. Here's a video that illustrates what I mean. I know this isn't totally comparable, obviously his software is much more advanced than what is possible on a mobile app, but the multi-selection tool he uses could be replicated I think. If not, please let me know. Thank you!

Thanks for the example video! Transform tool will definitely be improved soon! :)
