Chromebook Input Lag (OpenGL/ Hardware Acceleration Issue?)
Device information located at the end.
I'm a big fan of this app. But for the past 6-8 months, there has been major input lag on my Chromebook device. This isn't a hardware issue, for I've used this app before. I've emailed Flipaclip 4-5 times but the issue hasn't been resolved. It seems like Flipaclip doesn't use OpenGL on android yet. They have it on IOS but havn't yet ported it over. Here is the email:
Hello Leo,
Apologies for any delay in getting back to you. We do thank you for the screen recording you've sent. Android apps running on Chrome OS is something fairly new and there seems to be a bug on the app. The reason behind this is because something was removed or added hardware acceleration to the Android app. Other apps used OpenGL for drawing and on Android we don't use that yet. We do on iOS and soon we hope to port that engine which is super fast!
Alternatively, you can check if there's a Chrome OS option to enable/disable hardware acceleration on the app. Hope this helps!
Please let us know if you need any further assistance. Thank you!
If you guys know anything that might help, please let me know. I'm eager to use the app again.
Samsung Chromebook Pro (Gen 1)
Google Chrome OS (Version 69.0.3497.95 Official Build [Beta] 64-Bit)
Heavy input lag with both touch and stylus. All other functions work fine.
Issues with Accelerated 2D Canvas, Hardware-accelerated Video Decode, and/or OpenGL/WebGl perhaps? I'm not sure. This happens every time. Wasn't always like this. Ever since one of the updates, it's been lagging heavily and I can't use the app I paid for.
On my chromebook when I go to movie mode, the movie is missing the first 7 frames.
