Lots of suggestions coppied from messages I sent to your tumblr account
Hey guys I really like your app!!! Im a baby animator but Ive been using your app for at least a couple of years now and I think you guys know what 2D animators want from their software. its super awesome how its got all the right features of traditional animation on my phone I'm so glad someone has taken full advantage of the S-Pen and put it into a very relevant and useful animation app. I think I posted a bunch of suggestions on the app review page but I think the main one I think would help allot would be the option to make the volume buttons 'flip' through the frames. I don't know your feelings towards this but for me that would allow me to be fully absorbed in my animating, while not being disrupted by pressing my finger on the screen to move to the next frame (similar principles to short-cuts on graphics tablets etc). so for me, the ability to draw in full screen with the ability to go back and forth between frames using my volume keys would make it an even better experience I think. But yeah thanks for the awesome app letting me do my work wherever I am in life.
Hey thanks allot I really like your app youve done a great job in recognizing the most useful features in 2D animation software and it works really well on my phone. Another thing I wonder if you've considered would be an online place to submit your animation from the app, where everyone can see everyones animations, similar to some other art apps out there already. Anyway thanks for getting back to me and Im glad you like my loop :)Okay that last thing was a big of an extravagant request buy yeh its just a thought for the future. However I feel the customisation of the volume keys would dramatically improve productivity on this app, serious animators would LOVE this feature, simply (in the settings) to customise the option of either flipping between frames or inserting new ones would be 2 extremely time saving features as these are the main things every animtor does while working. And yeah a full screen drawing option would be the other best thing. If you look at the software toonboom which is industry standard 2D digital animation software, they have 3 key modes that are directly relevant to the animation production pipeline: Drawing (with the option of full screen drawing and all the tools relevent to that area), animating, and composition. But yeh these 2 features at least the first one would be amazing. Anyway Im no expert on this but I do know your hardcore fans would love you for this and if you had a blog or somewhere for people to submit their work specically made on this app Im sure it would encourage people to produce better work using it. The only reason Im giving you these suggestions is because I really like what youve done with the app and I can see great potential in it.
Personally the best setup would be a blank canvas where I can flip through the frames with my volume keys and add new ones with either my home button or power button, also the ability to use my finger as a colour picker instantly by just pressing and holding which colour I want to reuse - like autodesk sketchbook app. Then obviously a way of bringing back to non full scrcen mode using one small button on the screen - again similar to sketchbook app. Thats what i like about their app too, the ability to work using the entirety of your phone screen as they've added various shortcuts using double tap in any of the corners of the screen, and I use all of them all the time as I hate dealing with an interface while producing art, it makes everything much more natural and intuitive when your just thinking about what your working on rather than the software your making it in if that makes any sence.
Thanks for the long and useful feedback! I'm writing the major requested features here for others to see.
As you probably have seen. FlipaClip version 2 has taken some of your feedback and made it part of it. The canvas is now a bit more fullscreen, not 100% but more space than before.
The volume shortcut is great! And we are planning to include that option under settings. In regards to a place to submit animations, that would be awesome! Right now we don't have resources to do so but we'll get there!
