I've done a ton of WIP animations on my nexus5 but the screen went out..! So I've taken the sim back to my old nexus4 to use which also has FlipaClip, so what do I need to do to make sure I don't lose my FlipaClip work from my nexus5 (and bring it over to my nexus4)? The phone will be serviced or replaced soon so I don't want to lose everything! I plugged it into my PC and copied the data from com.vblast.flipaclip and tried to copy over project files between phones but that didn't work, I assume there are some metadata etc. I am missing. Please help! Thanks

Duplicates 3
I moved everything from my internal storage to the Sd card, and the flipaclip says it doesn't open any projects. how to fix please

Please i dont want to lost all my projects 😭

Recover projects after moving FlipaClip to SD card

A todos aquellos que quieran recuperar los proyectos que no se pueden abrir por haberlo pasado a la SD tienen que haber copiado todo las carpetas en android de com. vblast.flipaclip .

To all those who want to recover the projects that can not be opened because they have passed it to the SD they must have copied all the folders in com android.vblast.flipaclip

My video is missing when I try to make it to the movie. Almost all my drawing is vanished.

When I finish my drawing perfectly, I want to make it the movie. But it's says "your storage is full" or something like that. I don't remember the specific one. Then I deleted some of in my gallery, deleted my WhatsApp chat, then move the flipaclip's folder from the internal storage to the SD card storage. After that, when I want to try make the movie again, all my drawings and pictures is gone. I try to restart my phone because I thought it may be need to refresh. But after restarting, it's still gone. And that project is a home work from my teacher. What can I do to make it come back instead of make a new one from the start?

please answer me, i't an urgent

Hey, sorry you phone died :/

So there are two ways you can recover your projects.

1. Somehow trigger share project so that it builds a recoverable project that you can open on another device. Does the touch screen work? Can you see something somehow? If your touch screen works, maybe you can plug your phone to a TV and attempt that way. You will need a special cable to convert micro-usb to hdmi.

2. For this step you need a rooted phone. Copy the entire app content that is private. Mainly the database file. Also, copy the public data which you already copied. The database contains all the metadata to connect the dots with the public data you copied. On the new device you would paste those files in the exact same directories you copied them from.

Sorry there aren't any easier ways to recover... :/ We are already thinking of ways to avoid these issues.

Thanks Jona! Well the touchscreen is what really died in addition to the screen so Option 1 won't work unfortunately.

For Option 2 my phone is not already rooted so I'm not really sure if there's a way to do it easily anymore without losing everything. It may not be that critical to pursue.

At least copying all the public data I do have all the png files to take into After Effects or Premiere and ultimately finish what i'm working on. Most of what I've done is not multiple layer so it won't be a big deal to assemble. I'm grateful to have technically not lost anything!! I can easily keep working on stuff with a different device and combine it all later. I appreciate you looking into it! I really do love this app. It has got me back into animating and look forward to the continued development.

Oh man... :/ Thanks for providing some details. It helps us see how you use the app and the issues you run into so we can plan to improve the experience.

Unfortunately recovering your projects will be fairly hard to be usable on FlipaClip. Rooting requires a bit of work and there might be no guarantee that it will work with the broken screen. I'm happy you at least got your drawings out!

I'm glad FlipaClip got you back to animating! :) Any other feedback please let us know.

Glad this info can be helpful at least. I will be alright. Thanks for looking into the issue.

A few more onionskin options (for a frame after the current/inbetween) are of interest to me but I've seen it brought up elsewhere :-]

Oops just now updated to 1.5 on this phone.. great work! Love the new onion options etc.

Yeah, I'm having the same issue too, maybe you can program the app so that it treats all p# folders as projects rather than having the app look for only specific folders.

But other than that your app is awesome!

Hi, I accidentally deinstalled flipaclip and of course all the work is gone :-(. Is there any way to recover those projects

Hey Stefan, unfortunately once the app is uninstalled all projects go with it. We are already planning how to improve this so you never loose a project again.

Thank you very much for those instruction in step two. That definitely makes backing up all of my projects at once much easier!

Hi,is there no account creation? That would be ideal to start something on a phone, finish it in a tablet, and vice-versa.
