Is there any way to buy the premium features without the Apple ID?

I think I already know the answer to this but I wanted to ask anyway.

My son has flipaclip on his iPad from his school.  He's done some really cute little animations and I'd like to find some way to export them in some manner other than the movie renders.  I know there are more possible export options when you get the premium features.

We do have flipaclip with the premium features on his personal iPad, but his school iPad doesn't have the premium / paid features.  I'd be glad to pay for the premium features (they are reasonably priced IMHO), but I have a feeling I'm not going to be able to do that b/c the school controls the Apple ID.

From the skimming I've done on this forum and other q's my impression is that, unless I can buy the premium features through the school's apple ID, I am not going to be able to get the premium features on the school's iPad.  But is there some way I haven't thought of?  Can I, say, buy premium features on my own personal Apple ID and somehow "restore purchases" to the school's iPad?  Can I pay for some kind of premium features code?  Alternately, am I correct that there's no way to truly export project data without premium features, or is there actually a way of doing this?  I'm guessing the answer is no, and that there's no way I'm going to be able to export these projects and movies.  But I wanted to ask.

Hi Igor,

I was just talking with the tech admin at our school this morning, and happened to ask him about FlipaClip.  He said the reason our school is using the free version of FlipaClip is that in-app purchases are not compatible with school-managed iPads.

However, I don't think he had heard of FlipaClip For Schools.  Is FlipaClip For Schools actually a different version of the app, which is compatible with school-managed iPads?

If the kids at the school already had projects in the free FlipaClip and then the school switched to FlipaClip For Schools, would the existing projects show up or would it actually be a different app?

I was going to send him the link for the FlipaClip For Schools page but wanted to see if I might pre-ask about these details of whether it would work for the school.

Thank you!

Hey Stannous,

I am positive that we would be able to overcome the IAP situation.

Regarding the projects, at this moment they would probably have to start over as the way to backup and transfer projects are paid features.

But for a final detailed response please reach out to ur developers via this link or via email to geoff@visualblasters.com who can answer all your questions.

Regards,

Igor

Hello Stannous,

First of all sorry for the late response.

As far as your first question, you are correct, the only way to make an in-app purchase is from the AppleStore, by using a valid Apple account with a registered card on it.

Once again you are right, the only free method to export the work is if you make a movie and then share it in several possible ways. FlipaClip projects are a paid feature to share.

The only way to use the same premium feature on that school tablet ( this is the topic for that) if you use the same Apple ID, but I guess that isn't allowed. Unfortunately, that is the only method available.

You might be able to ask the school personnel if they are interested in providing the kids with our school program that has unlocked features and get further details here.

Regards,
Igor
